Fitting this ERA/Saracen/Surelock centre lock case

Remove the Multipoint (lock strip) lock from the door by first removing the handles, the lock barrel and the screws that hold the strip to the side of the door. With the lock strip removed, remove the centre case screws that hold the ERA gearbox onto the locking strip, swap the gearbox, and put the whole locking system back in the door. Simple 20 min job using a screw driver.

This centre case will replace the gearboxes on most ERA/Saracen/Surelock upvc door locks and the newer Composite Wooden type doors. Although the full multipoint locks have different widths and different locking points, they use exactly the same gearbox to operate the mechanism. To identify which make of lock you have, look on the locking strip when the door is open, it should have the makers name on it.
